Very Good

Great location to go on a hike to the cliffs with amazing sea views. Free parking with plenty of space. Welcoming staff. Warm and cosy room, spacious and warm bathroom.

Price was rather high. The breakfast was basic, with little choice, no buffet (served by waiters) and mostly packaged and canned food. Cheese and pork heavy.

Beautiful old property from 1700. Very quiet but easy to find. Dinner was perfectly cooked, excellent steak and fish. Very pleasant staff with good English. Manicured gardens.

Smell of disinfectant in room. Furniture a bit sparse in 3/4 bedded room - one chair in room, - geared more for summer stays than a wet Autumn night.

very close to the sea, where you can walk or bike and enjoy incredibles views. Amazing place, swimming pool, gardens, building. Very good breakfast. Super nice staff.

Lovely, relaxing accommodation from which one can explore beaches, mountains, cities

A lovely, quiet hotel in the countryside. Lovely atmosphere and welcoming, helpful host. The room had character and charm. Continental breakfast was tasty and having the option of evening meals was ideal and added to the relaxation. Lovely gardens for strolling around. We did not use the outdoor pool due to the cool weather but it looked nice for a warm day. The overall experience was peaceful, relaxing and felt like being in a country home.

We were happy with everything. It's a quiet, rural location so ideal for people who like the countryside.

An excellent choice

Good rural location, convenient for Santander ferry. Very comfortable large room with terrace. Did not use swimming pool, partly due to weather not being very hot, but looked clean and inviting. Excellent food in the restaurant but portions were really larger than we could eat; excellently prepared and good variety. Host was most welcoming and good-natured, staff in restaurant also excellent. We stayed here 11 years ago and remember it as being just as good then, so standards have remained high. Would stay again if we were visiting the area.

Nice place to stay.

Excellent hotel. Staff very friendly, especially Josef the owner. Lovely setting, very nice garden area and pool. Accommodation was very good nice room clean and comfortable. Evening meals were excellent - good quality and value.

The breakfast was continental only. No hot food. Only cereal was chocolate coco pops. Location ok, good if you stay at the hotel but nothing very close by. Need a car to get to the beach, a town or a restaurant. We would go again for a short stay.

Country hotel close to Comillas

A comfortable hotel in the countryside near Comillas with a large swimming pool and gardens to relax in. We enjoyed dinner in the restaurant - the hake with a saffron sauce was recommended and didn't disappoint. Unrelated to the hotel, we loved El Capricho de Gaudi in Comillas. We booked on-line and paid for an excellent guided tour in English which at only 3€ extra was an absolute bargain.

Unfortunately the restaurant was closed on our first night. We have no problem with the staff needing a night off but we only found out half an hour before we arrived on a Sunday afternoon when all the shops were closed. The owner pointed us to a little corner show in the neighbouring village where we were able to buy some bread and cheese. Not what we'd planned after a really long drive.

Comfortable base for visiting Santllana del Mar, the Altamira Museum and the Cantabrian coast

We were genially welcomed by our host to this large old village house which has been beautifully restored as a small hotel. Our room was large with plenty of drawer and hanging space with a balcony overlooking the large garden and very comfortable beds. The area is quiet and peaceful and we experienced no noise, neither from other rooms nor from traffic.

We found the evening meal disappointing and ate out on subsequent nights. Otherwise, all good.
